Description

Use a free iPad app to create a stop-motion video of the water cycle. Supports NextGen Science Standard MS-ESS2-4

This iPad® mobile digital device STEM Challenge project is a fun and creative way for students to demonstrate their learning or as an introduction to the water cycle. Students will use the enclosed direction sheets, QR anchor chart, and vocabulary label sheet to review the water cycle and to create a stop-motion video showing the cycle on the iPad. Students can use cut paper to animate the stages. I recommend having students work in teams of 2-4 to complete the project.

Packet includes everything your students need to plan and create their videos independently:
★ 3 Anchor Chart options with the Water Cycle and QR links to a NASA simulation on YouTube, View Pure (Ad-free) or QR free version.
★ 1 student project direction sheet
★ 1 Stop Motion ready reference sheet – an outline of the basic controls of the app to display.
★ 2 step-by-step direction sheets with visuals to help students independently use the app from start to finish.
★ Detailed teacher directions for introducing the assignment
★ 1 set of water cycle vocabulary labels for students to use in their videos.
★ 1 Rubric to assess student work

You will need the app Stop Motion Studio. A clickable QR code linking to the App Store® online store listing is included.

Since my products all utilize free web and app resources, there may be rare times that the technology does not work as planned, which may be out of my control. Please be sure to message me in the Q&A section so I can assist you before leaving feedback. I use all of the apps that I base my packets on frequently and will update products as the apps themselves update.
